LAMOILLE VALLEY
We are proud to introduce the current Steering Committee for Lamoille Valley’s Salvation Farms.

This committee can be made up of 5-9 members who are serving one to three year terms. A list of our committee members follows.

Rebecca Beidler: Rebecca is the Field Coordinator for the Lamoille Valley Gleaning Group. She has a passion for food; growing, cooking, and eating it. She has gained farming and gardening experience working at a number of small scale perennial nurseries and vegetable farms in Vermont and Oregon. Rebecca and her husband have operated a small vegetable and medicinal herb farm on her brother’s dairy farm. To farm commercially is still their dream. Working with Salvation Farms to connect local farm resources, willing volunteers, and those in need of food fulfills her desire to feed the local community and stay connected to Earth.

Jen O’Donnell: Jen came to Vermont with a special interest in fiber that led to a formal education in Sustainable Agriculture from Sterling College where she joined with Theresa as co-founder and assistant director assisting in the creation of and overseeing the implementation of Salvation Farms. Jen has a variety of on-farm experiences with a special interest in agricultural education. She has been a long time employee with the Craftsbury Outdoor Center, a cross-country skiing and summer sculling center.

Shelby Hammond: Shelby has been volunteering with Salvation Farms since August 2005. The bulk of her time has been spent on fundraising, promotion, and administrative tasks. She also brings skills in event planning and volunteer/farmer recruitment and relationship building. Shelby is very proud to be part of Salvation Farms and its important work to strengthen our communities. Shelby is an organizer at Rural Vermont, a nonprofit advocacy group for farmers, and lives in Calais.

Jim Eikenberry: Jim is a Soil Conservationist with the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service and is passionate about building connections between people and the land as well as addressing the root causes of hunger and food insecurity. He is a resident of Johnson, VT and has degrees from Warren Wilson College and the University of Vermont .

Keith Morris: Keith is an organic farmer, designer, natural builder, and educator who facilitates healthy and healing human ecosystems. His work combines human community building with wild ecological restoration and diverse, nutrient-dense food production. He is Permaculture Instructor on the faculties of Sterling College, the Yestermorrow Design Build School, and the University of Vermont, and has worked for USAID in Nigeria and Ghana.

Kee Gillen: Description coming on-line soon.
