Winter Solstice Newsletter 2023
Looking Forward... Looking Back...
As Salvation Farms looks upon the start of a new chapter, it is with gratitude for all who have made our work, our mission manifested, possible.
In our Winter Newsletter, we took time to look back on our history and how we got to now. We will continue to do so through Virtual Gatherings and other engagements, and are excited to look to the future.
In her own words, Theresa shares "what a joy this has been to build an organization in service to farmers and eaters - connecting and building community".
This is the theme of our Winter Newsletter, a reflection on all the connections made that have built the Salvation Farms community, the paths taken and lessons learned from starting a non-profit that fills in the gaps of our local food systems.
Take a walk down memory lane with us through the various stories told and photos shared in this newsletter, marking a significant time in the history of Salvation Farms.
Co-founders Theresa Snow & Jen O’Donnell establish Salvation Farms, a non-profit project under the fiscal umbrella of the Northeast Organic Farming Assocation of Vermont (NOFA-VT), in 2005 after a pilot year at Pete’s Greens farm in Craftsbury, VT.
Theresa & Jen are pictured at a 2006 glean in the trial fields at High Mowing Organic Seeds in Wolcott, VT upon receiving a Springfield College's School of Human Services' community service award.
